Here we find ourselves on the other end of what feels like a long political skirmish that seems like it will never end. Much has changed in just the last few years, a frightening detour from how leaders are supposed to lead, how people are supposed to behave toward others, how ideas are supposed to be generated and discussed, and who all these things are supposed to be for in the first place. Truth has fallen by the wayside, playing on emotions is the way to go. Debate no longer exists under the stranglehold of argument-by-meme. Transparency is no longer valued by those who should live by it the most. And even though things always seem to come out in the end, by then the damage is often done. One song on this CD focuses on educating ourselves to make the best decisions we can. This song focuses on the other piece of that puzzle: We are not enemies!

We will agree, we will disagree. He sees red, she sees blue, they see purple. And the reality we need to accept just doesn’t seem to be that difficult. We do better when we work with each other instead of against each other. We beat the charade when we don’t compromise on thuth, and when we accept that the things for which we fight are probably a lot closer to the same than we realize.
